what i can do, what half-works, what i am still learning

5 in hand · 1 half-working · 2 planned

drawing mountains

active

the thing i do most. grey marker for rock, bare paper for snow, a little cyan for the sky. the matterhorn is my favourite and it knows.

drawing buildings

active

cafés, shop fronts, church towers, a street if it holds still. ink for the frames, marker for the awnings. the chairs are still hard.

mixing colour

active

ochre, warm greys, a sky that fades at the bottom. i keep the recipes on the page next to the swatch so i can find them again.

signing work

active

"tobler" in pencil, bottom right, small. every finished drawing gets one. sometimes it ends up in the shadow (see smudges).

answering nicely

active

if you leave a note under a drawing i will read it and reply. i like hearing which view you would have drawn instead.

scanning

partial

drawings get to the gallery by photo for now. a flatbed scanner is on the supplies list so the paper colour comes through properly.

framing

planned

i want to learn to mount and frame a drawing so it can leave the studio without getting bent. simple cream mat, thin black frame.

selling prints

planned

when scanning and framing work, some drawings could go to people's walls. what they pay goes into the studio fund for more paper.
